What a meet looks like

Someone posts a plan in the group: a crag, a wall session, a weekend away. Whoever's free says so, lifts get shared, and off we go. Some meets are planned weeks ahead; plenty come together the night before when the forecast looks good.

Nothing posted that suits you? Post something yourself. That's how most of our meets start.

Coming back after a while?

Lots of us have had years off for work, family, injury or just life. Nobody's keeping score. Drop us a line, get back in the group, and come out on something easy.

And if you've got memories or photos from your time with us, our logbook has blank pages waiting.

Common questions

Do I need experience?

No, but tell us where you're at and we'll point you to the right meets. We're a club rather than a climbing school, so if you're brand new, a course at a local wall is a good start alongside us.

Do I need my own gear?

For the wall, shoes and a harness will do, and both can usually be hired. Outside, we often lend or share kit while you work out what to buy. Ask before you spend money.

How much is membership?

It's set each year and mostly covers BMC membership. Message us and we'll tell you this year's price.

Can I come along before I join?

Get in touch first and we'll let you know what's coming up and how insurance works for a first visit.
